Getting your CME credit recognized by your regulator

CMES courses carry pre-approved CME credit, but exactly how that gets recognized depends on where you're licensed:

• British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan: These provincial regulators pre-approve CMES courses directly. If you're licensed in one of these provinces, credit from a completed course is already recognized — you don't need to submit any extra approval request, though you should still keep your certificate on file (see above).


• Other provinces: Some regulators don't run a pre-approval process for course providers. In that case, it's up to you to submit your CMES certificate to your own college/registrar and request recognition when you complete your annual CE reporting. This is a normal, expected step in these provinces rather than a sign that something's gone wrong — it's just a different process than pre-approval.
